APPLICATIONS

Jasmonic acid and/or Jasmonic acid methyl esters are released in certain parts of the plants when tissues are damaged or infected. They act as plant hormones to help organize healing, to regulate growth and development and to promote leaf senescence. They seem to involve in plant defence mechanism and pigment formation promotion. They acts as external communication signal among plants. Since methyl jasmonate is more volatile than jasmonic acid, plants produce both jasmonic acid and methyl jasmonate to be transported to other parts easily
